Increase your impact by inviting three friends to email your mayor or local leader about bringing cheap clean energy to your community. 

We’ve created a sample message and additional talking points, but the message will be even more powerful if you personalize it. 

Sample Message:

Hi [friend’s name],

People everywhere are struggling with skyrocketing energy bills. Our world is facing a devastating climate crisis.

The most effective way to keep electricity bills down, protect our community’s health, and tackle climate change is to use clean energy. It’s the cheapest form of new energy almost everywhere.

That is why I emailed [your mayor or local leaders’ names] to bring cheap clean energy to our community. Will you send an email as well?

Here is the message to send:

My name is [your name] and I'm writing today to urge you to bring cheap clean energy to [your city/community].

Continuing to rely on expensive and dirty fossil fuels means electricity prices will continue to rise here in [your city/community]. Fossil fuel energy also pollutes the air we breathe and accelerates the climate crisis worldwide. We just can’t afford it.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Today, clean energy is the cheapest form of new energy almost everywhere. Transitioning to clean energy here in [your city/community] is the most effective way to keep electricity bills down, protect our community’s health, and tackle climate change.
