AMERICAN JOBS WEEK
"When I think climate change, I think jobs.” – President Joe Biden
American families are struggling. Our climate is changing. And injustice and inequality is growing by the day.
The president has a plan – the American Jobs Plan – to tackle these challenges head-on and rebuild America with clean energy and green jobs.
This week, Climate Reality chapters are virtually knocking on the doors of members of Congress demanding a strong American Jobs Plan that rebuilds America with clean energy and green jobs.
We aim to help make history. You can help.
Each day during American Jobs Week, we’ll share information on @ClimateReality's Instagram Story about why we need Congress to act now, how bold action like the American Jobs Plan can create a more justice and equitable future of opportunity for all Americans, and how you can take action.
We believe these investments will be instrumental in addressing the climate crisis, all while developing the American infrastructure of tomorrow. Watch “Why We Need a Climate-focused Infrastructure Plan” to learn more from our Founder and Chairman Al Gore and Board Members Catherine Coleman Flowers and Donnel Baird.
This is our climate moment. We have no time to waste.
SIGN THE PETITION
Tell YOUR REPRESENTATIVE: Support the passage of the American Jobs Plan with strong and bold climate provisions.
This is America. We don’t look away when our friends and neighbors are struggling. When racism is choking dreams and destroying lives. When the climate crisis threatens everyone we love and everything we’ve worked for.
We get to work.
That’s what the American Jobs Plan is about. It’s a big, bold plan to rebuild America, fight climate change, and make this truly a country of opportunity for all.
The challenges ahead are perhaps the greatest we’ve ever faced: COVID, the climate crisis, rising inequality and injustice.
But rising to the moment is what we do. And with the American Jobs Plan, we can put millions to work in good, green jobs. We can ensure every American has clean air and safe drinking water. We can bring real investment and hope to communities in towns and cities from coast to coast. We can stop global warming and give our children a future to live their dreams.
This is our moment. Our chance to build the America we want. History is watching. Future generations are waiting. So, let’s get to work.
Encourage your Member of Congress to support the passage of the American Jobs Plan with strong and bold climate provisions.

Clean Energy Jobs
We want a fair shift to an economy that is ecologically sustainable, equitable, and just. That means pushing for 100% clean, renewable electricity by 2035 for the whole country.
Start learning about why clean energy matters:
EXPLORE: Zero-Carbon Transportation
Transportation is the single biggest source of US emissions. We can do better – much better.
That’s why we’re working to make clean transportation options like electric vehicles, electric buses, and rapid transit readily accessible and affordable for everyone by advocating for policies that decarbonize the transportation sector and reduce the emissions literally driving climate change.

Take Further Federal Action
Want to take it one step further?
Americans know a great plan when they see it. That’s why nearly seven in 10 support the plan’s bold investment in clean energy and other measures to put Americans to work building our country back better.
Proposed alternatives in Congress leave out the critical climate provisions we need to build back better. They turn a blind eye to marginalized communities bearing the brunt of the COVID-19 and climate crises.
We say no way.
Congress needs to know that Americans support a strong American Jobs Plan that thinks big and acts boldly on climate. You can help by sending a letter to let President Biden, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer know we’re demanding climate is front and center in the American Jobs Plan.
We know a plan like this can feel overwhelming – and it should! It’s overwhelmingly good – promising we not only rebuild, but build back better. With the American Jobs Plan, we can put millions to work in good, green jobs. We can ensure every American has clean air and safe drinking water. We can bring real investment and hope to communities in towns and cities from coast to coast. We can stop global warming and give our children a future to live their dreams.

The American people are demanding bold action to confront the climate crisis threatening our lives, our country, and the future we’re leaving our children. What’s more, it’s clear that now is the time to tackle the pervasive inequality and systemic racism that has plagued us for generations.
That’s why President Joe Biden’s proposed investments in green infrastructure and climate justice in the American Jobs Plan are such a big deal. These investments would put millions to work following the economic devastation of COVID, push forward practical climate solutions, and make justice central.
We believe these investments will be instrumental in addressing the climate crisis, all while developing the American infrastructure of tomorrow. Watch “Why We Need a Climate-focused Infrastructure Plan” to learn more!
