(He/him) Jay Bassett served the public over 35 years both as a naval military officer (retired) and as a civil servant and leader with the US Environmental Protection Agency. He was a charter member of EPA’s leadership cadre in transforming EPA’s land and waste program’s “Road Ahead” principles building capacity on materials management approaches, and broad, ongoing public dialogue on circular and sustainable materials management. He also was an advisor in developing and implementing strategies to maximize the agency’s commitment to achieving meaningful outcomes through what is now known as EPA’s community works framework and principles. He currently serves on boards for several sustainability-based community, state, and national NGOs.
