Michael Zelniker is a lifelong environmentalist with long-time memberships in the Sierra Club, NRDC, EDF and Greenpeace. Born and raised in Montreal, Michael is an award-winning actor and filmmaker. After more than 30 years of working on film, television, and theater stages all over the world and 14 years of teaching and training actors and filmmakers at the Los Angeles campuses of the New York Film Academy and AMDA College and Conservatory for the Performing Arts, he left his job to work fulltime as a volunteer trying to help solve the climate crisis. In 2018, soon after being trained by former Vice President Al Gore, Michael was elected co-chair of the Los Angeles chapter of The Climate Reality Project, a position he held for two-and-a-half years. Michael is currently completing work on a documentary, “The Issue with Tissue,” about the boreal forests and the existential imperative to protect and conserve them. Michael’s credo is captured by the words of the ancient proverb: "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors — we borrow it from our children.”
