Shabd Singh is a political organizer and advocate from Washington, DC. Growing up between India and the United States, he witnessed global inequality firsthand and has dedicated his life and career to improving the lots of working people. Shabd studied urban planning and public policy at the University of Oregon where he was first exposed to grassroots politics. Shabd worked as a schoolteacher in India for two years before returning to the US and beginning his career in politics. After years of working for progressive campaigns and organizations, in 2019 he joined the Bernie Sanders for President campaign where he worked as an organizer and political associate. Outside of work, Shabd hosts a podcast on Sikh history, culture, and politics interviewing Sikh experts, activists, and creators. He also enjoys skateboarding, cooking, and taking walks with his wife, Sukhmani, and hanging out with his cat, Bindhi.
