Global week of action
Global Week of Action
June 1–7, 2026
As energy demand explodes, electricity costs soar, and communities bear the brunt of climate impacts, we need leaders who will pave the way to a clean energy future.
That’s why from June 1–7, we mobilized our global network around a Global Week of Action and called on mayors worldwide to bring cheap, clean energy to our communities.
From New Delhi to Nairobi, our global network sent emails, spread the word on social media, made calls, and mailed in or hand-delivered hundreds of petitions.
Although the Global Week of Action has concluded, our work isn’t over yet. With energy costs rising and climate disasters intensifying, our mission is more critical than ever.

Clean energy initiatives at the national level currently face tough resistance in many places. But that doesn’t mean the clean energy transition is stalled – we just need to shift the pressure.
Mayors and city leaders are well-positioned to speed the transition to clean energy: They’re closer to our communities and directly involved in the local policies needed to move clean energy infrastructure forward.

Dear Mayors: Bring Cheap Clean Energy to Your Community
It’s time to send a message to our mayors and city leaders: Bring cheap clean energy to our towns and cities.
