(he/him/his) Bambang serves as the Asia Pacific regional organizer for The Climate Reality Project. In this role, he coordinates and supports the organization’s branches across the Philippines, Australia, Japan, and Indonesia. Bambang's commitment to climate action stems from his lived experiences with devastating annual forest fires in Indonesia. As these fires have scorched millions of hectares of forest, they produced thick and toxic haze that severely impacted the health of millions, including his friends and family. These experiences have driven him to collaborate with leading international organizations and think tanks such as The World Bank, The Nature Conservancy, and the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR). His work has focused on designing climate adaptation strategies, improving forest governance, advocating for environmental justice, and promoting pro-environmental behaviors. Bambang holds an MA in sociology from Northwestern University in the US, an MSc in social psychology from Lancaster University in the UK, and a BPsych from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang in Indonesia. In his leisure time, Bambang enjoys hiking, reading, and exploring museums.
