The Climate Reality Project Integrates Climate Changemakers to Expand and Mobilize Its Network of US Climate Advocates

Washington, DC (September 16, 2025) – Today, The Climate Reality Project is announcing the integration of Climate Changemakers, an advocacy nonprofit, into its organization. With deeply aligned missions and a commitment to constituent-powered climate action to build the political will necessary to slash emissions and accelerate the energy transition, the Climate Reality domestic network will now encompass over two million trained Leaders, activists, and volunteers in the US.

As demand for climate solutions grows among Americans, subnational officials must lead on ambitious clean energy policies in cities and states. By fusing Climate Changemakers’ high impact model, tailored for dynamic, busy advocates, with Climate Reality’s global network of Leaders, compelling campaigns, and Leadership Corps trainings, advocates in all 50 states will be mobilized to demand bold state and local solutions.

“It is an honor to welcome Climate Changemakers’ knowledgeable and dedicated advocates into the Climate Reality family,” said Founder and Chairman of The Climate Reality Project, former US Vice President Al Gore. “As Climate Reality enters its twentieth year, I’m excited to expand our grassroots network and build power in service of our mission to make urgent action a necessity across every sector of society to protect people and the planet for future generations.”

“By joining forces to address real solutions we can realize necessary policy and political progress at all levels,” said Executive Director of Climate Changemakers, Dr. Eliza Nemser. “I’ve long admired The Climate Reality Project and Mr. Gore’s commitment to solving the climate crisis. I’m thrilled about the opportunity for Climate Changemakers to grow within Climate Reality’s network of advocates and Leaders. Together, we can advance progress despite unprecedented headwinds.”

“As the Trump Administration rolls back climate and clean energy policy, slashes investments in science, community resilience, and environmental protections, it is more important than ever to work at the local and state level,” said President and CEO of Climate Reality, Phyllis Cuttino. “Bringing Climate Changemakers into Climate Reality further strengthens our national network, enhancing our ability to champion policies and push back on the fossil fuel industry driving the climate crisis.”

The integration bolsters Climate Reality’s powerful infrastructure by layering new action-oriented meet-ups and tools into existing leadership trainings and chapter organizing, aligning advocacy approaches and expanding local outreach. For Climate Changemakers, the move is a chance to expand access to a proven organizing model and increase impact by teaming up with dedicated Climate Reality advocates across the US and through 98 volunteer-led chapters. This exciting integration ensures US climate advocates will have the resources and support to meet this critical moment for the planet.
