Urge the Inter-American Development Bank to Commit to Clean Energy
Multilateral development banks (MDBs) like the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) continue to finance fossil fuel projects that drive climate change and trap nations in unfair loans and a cycle of debt.
Despite making significant strides to scale climate finance, the bank must do more to align with the Paris Agreement and limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
The IDB must redirect its investments in fossil fuel development and shift those funds toward clean energy projects with fair financing.
Wind and solar energy are increasingly the cheapest form of new electricity worldwide, enabling nations to grow their economies and create good-paying jobs without destroying the planet.
Add your name to our letter to the IDB and urge the bank to cease the financing of fossil fuel projects and increase its climate finance commitments.
