Urge World Leaders: Deliver a Fossil Fuel Phaseout Plan
Earlier this spring, world leaders gathered in Santa Marta, Colombia for the First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels.
As petrostates and fossil fuel lobbyists continue to thwart progress at United Nations COP climate summits, this group of over 50 countries agreed to form a “coalition of the willing” to work out the practical steps of implementing a just global energy transition.
While there’s still work to be done after the Santa Marta conference, this marked a meaningful step toward moving beyond fossil fuels and diplomatic gridlock.
Act now: Tell world leaders to keep up the momentum after Santa Marta and build strong domestic fossil fuel phaseout plans.
