Urge the G20: End Fossil Fuel Subsidies

Each year, many wealthy countries in the G20 group of leading economies give massive financial handouts to the fossil fuel industry, artificially lowering the cost of producing coal, oil, and natural gas.

In 2023 alone, these subsidies totaled a whopping $620 billion worldwide. That’s billions of our public funds going to the wealthy corporations destroying our climate. They make billions. We pay the true cost.

We can do better. Today, clean energy is the cheapest form of new electricity almost everywhere. With costly climate disasters rising worldwide, it’s time for G20 leaders to change course and invest in clean energy solutions that let us power our lives without destroying our planet.
