Célia Xakriabá is co-founder of ANMIGA (National Articulation of Indigenous Women Warriors of Ancestry) and coordinator of the Joint Parliamentary Front in Defense of Indigenous Peoples' Rights. She holds a master's degree in sustainable development from the University of Brasília and a PhD in anthropology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. In 2022, she was elected the first Indigenous federal deputy from Minas Gerais, with over 100,000 votes. She received the Best Deputy in Climate and Sustainability Award from the Congresso em Foco platform in 2024.
