Janssen M. Martinez is the climate policy manager at the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC). He leads the Climate Finance Accountability Initiative (CFAI), tracking international finance to developing nations like the Philippines. Janssen serves as the Philippine focal point for the Multi-Actor Partnership on Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance (MAP-CDRFI), supports the Global Shield Against Climate Risks, and oversees funds like the People’s Survival Fund (PSF), Green Climate Fund (GCF), and Climate Investments Funds (CIFs). He holds a bachelor’s in sociology from the University of Santo Tomas and a master’s in development management from the Asian Institute of Management (2023 ADB–Japan Scholar). He is currently pursuing a second master’s in degrowth: ecology, economics, and policy at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
