Marina Silva

Marina Silva is a Brazilian teacher, environmentalist, and politician who is the current Environment and Climate Change Minister of Brazil. . She has a degree in history and specializes in psychopedagogy and psychoanalytic theory. She holds honorary doctorates from the Federal University of Bahia and the Chinese Academy of Forestry. She has received dozens of national and international titles and awards. She has served as a city councilor, state representative, and senator—always elected with record votes. She was also minister of the environment between 2003 and 2008. She ran for president in 2010, 2014, and 2018. She was elected federal deputy for São Paulo in 2022. She is currently once again heading the environment portfolio in the Esplanada.
