Oyunbaatar Tseren is the head of the Union of Mongolian Shamans Tengriin Sulder and a respected spiritual leader from Galzuut clan in Dornod Province, in the vast Eastern Steppes of Mongolia. He is a member of the Council of Elders of the World Union of Indigenous Spiritual Practitioners (WUISP). Born into a powerful lineage of shamans, he began his journey in 1997, assisting his father, the legendary Tseren Zaarin Baavai, whose spiritual practice and service to his people withstood the challenges of a totalitarian regime. In 2003, Oyunbaatar and his father’s disciples established Tengriin Sulder, which has since grown into a community of over 500 practicing shamans from all provinces of Mongolia. As the head of Tengriin Sulder, Oyunbaatar has played a key role in the revival of traditional Mongolian shamanic ceremonies that honor and worship nature. These ceremonies are conducted regularly in alignment with the traditional seasonal calendar, preserving the umbilical ties between human, nature, and culture. Through his leadership, Oyunbaatar continues to strengthen and protect Mongolia’s shamanic traditions, ensuring their relevance to both present and future generations.
