Saharnaz Mirzazad is executive director of ICLEI USA and a member of ICLEI’s global senior management team. She brings over 20 years of experience across the public and private sectors advancing climate action, infrastructure, and community development. Previously, she served as executive director of state planning and policy development at the California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research and as deputy director at the California Strategic Growth Council, where she oversaw more than $3 billion in investments supporting climate and equity-focused initiatives. She holds advanced degrees in urban and regional planning and urban design.
