Locals describe Venezuela’s Canaima National Park as “paradise.” But the region’s remote location – accessible only by small plane – for many years forced villages to rely on candles, gas generators, and hydroelectric turbines at risk of shutting down thanks to drought. That’s changing as small-scale solar projects have enabled villagers to get reliable and affordable electricity while helping preserve the beautiful environment around them for generations to come.
