Alphonce Shiundu is an award-winning author, editor, and journalist with over a decade in Kenya’s top media houses before joining Africa Check in 2017 to set up its Kenya office. As Africa Check’s pioneer Kenya editor, he promotes evidence-based journalism and public accountability. He writes on policy, politics, and media, with work featured by the BBC, CNN, FT, and others. A Chevening Scholar with a master’s in media and development, Shiundu trains widely on fact-checking, OSINT, and political communication. He has spoken in 14-plus countries and won the 2018 Africa Book Club award. When not tweeting @Shiundu, he’s hiking or writing nonfiction.
