Christopher Unruh
International Regional Organizer
Christopher Unruh is the international regional organizer for the Asia-Pacific at The Climate Reality Project. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai’i, he developed a deep passion for protecting the environment while witnessing the impacts of climate change on his low-lying island home. This has inspired a lifelong commitment to combatting climate change, as well as its impacts on the most vulnerable communities among us.
Christopher holds dual master’s degrees in international affairs from American University’s School of International Service and in natural resources and sustainable development from the United Nations University for Peace in Costa Rica. He also holds a bachelor's in international studies from Vassar College.
Christopher has previously lived, studied, and worked in half a dozen countries across Southeast and South Asia, Central and South America, and the Middle East addressing critical issues of climate and environmental justice, human rights, and forced migration. Before stepping into the international regional organizer role, Christopher was a US regional organizer at Climate Reality where he assisted chapters in the Western and Northeastern US on local and state level campaigns for progressive climate policy.
