Co-founder and Community Engagement Coordinator, Fundación Biodiversidad Alimentaria, Seed Guardian

Claudia is a seed guardian and researcher dedicated to the preservation of traditional seeds and the protection of agri-food heritage in Chile. Her journey started with the ancestral knowledge she inherited from her maternal grandparents, who taught her how to garden and the value of seeds and medicinal plants.

Driven by her search for living stories, she visited gardens throughout the country and met with grandmothers who preserved seeds as an act of remembrance and resistance. These experiences converged with the scientific and professional paths of her current partners and led to a research endeavor that bridges traditional knowledge with the contemporary approaches of Fundación Biodiversidad Alimentaria.
