Marcelo Mena-Carrasco, PhD, is CEO of the Global Methane Hub and professor at PUCV. A former Chile environment minister (2014–2018), he pioneered South America's first carbon taxes, a coal phase-out agreement, and protected 1.3 million km² of ocean. An environmental engineer from the University of Iowa specializing in emissions modeling, he is recognized in TIME Climate 100 (2024), Latin America's 50 Climate Leaders, and The Audacious Project (TED).
