Marcelo Mena
CEO, Global Methane Hub
Marcelo Mena-Carrasco, PhD, is CEO of the Global Methane Hub and professor at PUCV. A former Chile environment minister (2014–2018), he pioneered South America's first carbon taxes, a coal phase-out agreement, and protected 1.3 million km² of ocean. An environmental engineer from the University of Iowa specializing in emissions modeling, he is recognized in TIME Climate 100 (2024), Latin America's 50 Climate Leaders, and The Audacious Project (TED). Awards from UNEP, NASA, and EPA.
