Professor Paul Teng
Professor Teng is oncurrently executive director of The IRRI Fund Singapore, visiting senior fellow at the, Yusof Ishak Institute (ISEAS), and senior fellow at the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA/SEAMEO). Additionally he is science adviser to several agtech startups and two climate venture funds. Paul previously held leadership positions in the Worldfish Centre, the International Rice Research Institute, Monsanto Company and US universities (Minnesota, Hawaii). Professor Teng is internationally recognized for his expertise in food security, agricultural technology, digitalization in agrifood systems and smart/precision farming. He has published over 15 books, over 200 technical papers. and 120 professional papers. His latest book is “Food Security Issues in Asia” (2024) published by World Scientific. Paul obtained his bachelor of agricultural science (Hons) and PhD from Lincoln College, University of Canterbury, NZ. Paul has been recognized through multiple international awards and an Honorary DSc from Murdoch University, Australia.
