Rukiya Khamis is a climate, environmental, and social justice defender and community organizer based in Kenya. She serves as the Africa senior organizer at 350Africa.org and is the convener of the AfrikaVuka Network, working with over 300 grassroots community groups across the continent to resist fossil fuel developments and promote climate justice. Rukiya actively supports African groups through organizing, training, coaching, and coalition building to advance a just transition to renewable energy. With academic training in water resource management, she is also passionate about water conservation and expanding access to clean water across Kenya and beyond.
