Tatiana Mendonça Cardoso is caiçara (born on the island of Cardoso), a social scientist, and democratic educator. She works on projects and research aimed at strengthening traditional communities on Ilha do Cardoso. A resident of the Enseada da Baleia community, in Cananeia, São Paulo, she is a member of the Women of Enseada da Baleia (MAE) group, the Articulation of Traditional Communities of Ilha do Cardoso (APCTIC), the Forum of Traditional Peoples and Communities of Vale do Ribeira, the National Caiçara Coordination, and the Alliance of Traditional Peoples and Communities in Defense of the Atlantic Forest.
