Vanessa Hauc is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and anchor at Noticias Telemundo and the creator and director of Noticias Telemundo Planeta Tierra, a weekly news program dedicated entirely to environmental and climate issues. A native of Peru, Hauc has built a distinguished career covering environmental, social, and cultural issues affecting Hispanic communities in the United States and beyond. Hauc’s work has received widespread recognition. She was named one of the 10 Latinos Leading on Climate by HuffPost and one of the 50 Most Influential People in Sustainability by People magazine, received the Environmental Voice Arts Award from the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences, and was named Journalist of the Year by Covering Climate Now. Hauc co-founded Sachamama, a nonprofit promoting sustainability within the Latino community, and collaborated with Al Gore’s The Climate Reality Project. In 2020, she became the first climate journalist to moderate a US presidential debate. In 2022, she received an Emmy for Outstanding Journalist in Spanish-Language Media. In 2025, she was recognized as one of Covering Climate Now’s Journalists of the Year.
