Katrin Ganswindt
Head of Finance Research, Urgewald
Katrin Ganswindt has been working as an energy and finance campaigner for Urgewald in Sassenberg since 2011. Her first task at Urgewald was to mobilize activist groups for a campaign against export credits for a nuclear power plant in Brazil. Later, she was part of the team that successfully campaigned on a coal divestment of Norway’s Government Pension Fund. The team researched over 8,000 coal companies to identify the value of coal investments of the fund and then built on this successful research and launched the data tool the Global Coal Exit List (GCEL). Today, she is heading the finance research team, which uses GCEL and its sister project the Global Oil & Gas Exit List (GOGEL) to reveal the investors and banks behind each fossil fuel company.
