(she/her) Sonja is an intern for the Climate Speakers Network. Hailing from Sacramento, California, she is a senior at Stanford University, pursuing a B.S. in Earth Systems on the Land track with a Notation in Science Communication. She most valued the opportunities to learn tools necessary for critical work in environmental stewardship and justice and her time spent in the campus’s co-opperative houses.  Prior to joining Climate Reality, Sonja served as a communications and policy intern for Greenaction for Health and Environmental Justice and BlueGreen Alliance. Sonja has additionally volunteered for campaign work with Sunrise Sacramento and Fossil Free Stanford.  Sonja has traveled to over 30 countries and studied abroad in Santiago, Chile; Amman, Jordan; and Istanbul, Turkey. Sonja is a writer, comedian, yoga practitioner and novice surfer.
