What is the New 24 Hours of Reality?

    The climate crisis.

    Maybe you’ve heard of it.

Maybe you know something about the glaciers melting at a staggering rate or hurricanes getting stronger and want to learn more. Maybe you’re on top of all the latest headlines, but aren’t sure what you can do to help.

But maybe, just maybe, we can help you out here.

Because on November 20-21, we’re presenting 24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action, a global conversation on the climate crisis and how we can solve it.

Beginning November 20, Climate Reality Leader volunteers personally trained by former Vice President Al Gore will lead conversations and presentations in all 50 US states and countries around the world. Presentations about the truth of the climate crisis, what it means for us in our everyday lives, and the solutions already in our hands.

That’s right: one full day of the world coming together to talk about the crisis that threatens us all – and then take action.

And we want YOU to be a part of this conversation.

What Is 24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action?

Former Vice President Al Gore, has been fighting for climate action for decades. And since 2006, he’s trained nearly 21,000 Climate Reality Leader activists to follow his lead educating and empowering people around the world to take action.

For Truth in Action, these Leaders will share Vice President Gore’s legendary presentation on the climate crisis and its solutions in schools, workplaces, community centers, places of worship, and much more, all around the planet.

(If you’ve seen An Inconvenient Truth or An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, you’ve seen a version of the legendary presentation Climate Reality Leaders share with audiences around the world. And you know how inspiring it is.)

Truth in Action is a chance for people everywhere to come together with their friends, neighbors, and colleagues, and learn what the climate crisis means for them. It’s a chance to learn how we can all take action and make a difference at this critical time for the Earth.

It’s easy to join Truth in Action. Just visit to find a presentation in your community. And if there’s not already a presentation scheduled, you can request one in your own school or town hall or other venue that works for you.

Presentations are free and we can help make your Truth in Action event a success with a local Climate Reality Leader who understands what matters to your community.

Leaders are exceptional speakers who know how to make climate science and solutions accessible to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. People come to presentations curious and concerned about what the crisis means for them. They leave informed, empowered, and energized to act.

    Why Should I Get Involved?

You don’t have to be a scientist to realize that we need to divest from fossil fuels and invest in our future (aka renewables).

Our breathtaking, beautiful planet needs you. Young toddlers who don’t even know the kind of world they’ve inherited need you. And they need you to wake the world up – before the crisis grows even worse.

Sure, you might not have the legislative pen in your hand, but big change begins small. Think of lauded climate activist Greta Thunberg, who began protesting her local government for immediate climate action. Thanks to her dedication, more and more young people are taking to the streets to demand that their voices – and futures – be heard.

And with more people waking up to the reality of the crisis every day, we’re building a movement. One conversation at a time.

In fact, research shows that just talking about global warming with your friends and family makes a difference in breaking through political and tribal identities and helping people recognize the truth right in front of us.

It starts with learning the facts. And you can start by attending or hosting a Truth in Action presentation.

I Care, But Who Has the Time or Energy to Host an Event?

We get it. We have work. We have school. We have our families and our private lives.

But we also have a moral obligation to act to protect the planet we share. We owe our children and generations to come a future where they can dream just as we did. Where they can experience the wonder of the Earth and live rich, full lives without the threat of climate catastrophe.

By hosting a Truth in Action presentation, you help us get there. You can help spread awareness like wildfire, giving the people in your life and your community not just a deeper understanding of how the climate crisis will affect their lives, but what they can do. And that’s how movements grow and win.

Plus, hosting a Truth in Action event is easier than you think. Plus, plus, we’re here to help.
