Fossil fuels have no place in our schools!

Lead the way in building a climate just future for all.

SHARE

If you’re like most high-school students, you know how fossil fuels and climate change threaten your future.

The question is: What can you do about it?

The answer might be closer than you think. That’s because most K-12 schools in the US rely on fossil fuels for electricity, generating the equivalent of 18 coal plants of climate-changing emissions each year.

The good news is that you can have a say here. In your school’s energy choices. In our planet’s future.

Join the Green Schools Campaign and learn how you can build a student-led movement to transition your school and your community to 100% clean energy.

Whether you’re an experienced organizer or a first-time activist, the Green Schools Campaign will help you build the leadership, advocacy, and organizing skills to make a difference on climate change. Starting with your school

HISTORY

In 2020, students and Climate Reality Leaders in Los Angeles campaigned and won commitments from the city's unified school and community college districts to reach 100% clean energy by 2040.

Several of the Leaders involved – Simon Aron, Michael Zelniker, Sybil Azur, and Calum Worthy – recognized these victories could be a model for schools and districts across the country.

Partnering with a new generation of young Leaders including Ava Acevedo, Natalia Armenta, Simon Aron, and Lily Morse, they launched Green Schools Campaign to share their experience and empower students to drive change in schools from coast to coast.
