Boulder, CO (June 5, 2013) – The Telly Awards bestowed ten awards on The Climate Reality Project’s record-breaking 24 Hours of Reality: The Dirty Weather Report, which was originally broadcast in November 2012. The broadcast was recognized with two top honors – the coveted Silver Telly – for News/News Feature and Social Responsibility, and was a Bronze Winner (second place) in eight other categories, including Live Events, Green/Eco-friendly, and Cause Marketing, among others. The Telly Awards honors the very best film & video productions, groundbreaking online video content, and outstanding local, regional, & cable TV commercials and programs.

The Climate Reality Project’s The Dirty Weather Report connected millions of people around the world with more than 100 experts for an urgent discussion about the impacts of the climate crisis. The live-streamed event set a new Ustream record for most channel views in a 24-hour period, with nearly 17 million views from 15 million unique viewers worldwide, and helped seed the Dirty Weather meme into popular culture.

This is the second year in a row that 24 Hours of Reality has garnered international recognition for its high production quality. In 2011, the broadcast received the Cannes Silver Lion Award for Branded Content & Entertainment. The Climate Reality Project is already in preparations for the third annual 24 Hours of Reality, which will take place in late fall of 2013.

“We are honored by the recognition from the Telly Awards for the impact and high production value of The Dirty Weather Report, and view this as proof-positive that ‘Dirty Weather’ has become embedded within the general public’s understanding of climate change,” said Maggie L. Fox, President and CEO of The Climate Reality Project. “We congratulate our amazing production team for this wonderful recognition of their work.”
