Sara Innamorato (she/her) was sworn in as Allegheny County executive on January 2, 2024. Prior to winning the election for county executive, she served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives after winning the election for the 21st District seat in 2018. As state representative, she led the effort to increase the supply of affordable housing, raise the minimum wage, secure environmental protections, establish the first Office of New Pennsylvanians, and create a Working Families Tax Credit. In 2022, the legislature passed Sara’s Whole Home Repairs legislation, which distributed $125M in critical funding to keep seniors and those facing housing insecurity in their homes while investing in climate resilience and local workforce development.
