Solar has become a key part of the mayor’s strategy, with 50 neighborhoods already self-reliant for energy, thanks to solar programs and other measures. And with Seoul cutting its energy consumption by the equivalent of 2 million metric tons in only three years, the city has become a model of how local action can lead the global climate fight.
