(She/her) Ginger Sykes Torres was appointed by the Biden Administration to serve as the state executive director of the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency in Arizona in October 2022. A graduate of Stanford University’s earth systems program, she is an environmental planner and a civic leader who has spent her career working to create a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable planet for future generations. She has experience in land use planning, environmental impact assessment, environmental policy, renewable energy planning, and climate adaptation. She is a citizen of the Navajo Nation, a former world champion Native American hoop dancer, and is a passionate advocate for issues affecting tribal communities in Arizona.
